4Smaller than anticipated but a great addition to the kitchen.
By D. Martinez
I bought this for my mother and the dish is a wee bit smaller than I had hoped for.Never mind though as the color (cobalt in this case) is beautiful and the craftsmanship is untouchable. We immediately made a cauliflower gratin in the dish after receipt and it came out beautifully. In addition the dish looks great on the table. It's nice to have something that can go from oven to table with ease and good looks.

4VERY PRETTY
By MamaS
This au gratin dish is beautifully done in Cherry Red, dark cherry at the bottom, gradiating up into bright red at the top. Though the bottom is not painted, it is rather smooth and will not easily scratch up surfaces it sits upon. The dish is oven and microwave safe which is great versatility. I find it cleans up nice, even baked food comes off with a little soak or tiny amount of scrubbing in soapy water with a dish cloth. It's also dishwasher safe but I always pre-wash the baked on stuff because our dishwasher is not super top of the line. It is a nice shallow oval 1-quart size but it seems a bit more delicate in weight than the 10 inch rectangle baker we have in the Le Creuset Stoneware line so I am careful with it. I have made creamed asparagus, green bean casserole, potatoes au gratin, even baked some frozen buffalo wings in it! Remember this is a 1-quart size so buy it if you prefer to have a smallish au gratin dish for certain things you make. The flaring handles on it make it prettiest baking dish I have. I do recommend this dish.

3Its ok...Maybe I just don't "get it"
By W. Hohenschuh
This dish was a gift and has been in my cookware rotation for the last year or so and I can give it a pretty confident 3 star review. Three stars apparently means "it's ok" and thats really all that I feel about it. The dish is pretty and its certainly something that you can take to the table, but I've always thought that Le Creuset products cooked better than standard products and thats why I've spent the money on the grill pan, dutch oven, frying pan, etc. This pan is nice because it matches the set, but honestly it doesn't do anything special. The ceramic coating is no more (and probably less) non-stick than a rimmed baking sheet. Clean-up is average for the most part, although I've had trouble getting some baked on grease and grime out from the texture on the handles. The temperature it can be used at isn't far and away higher than any of my other baking dishes. There isn't a dish that I could point to and say that's going to come out better because of this pan.Do I just not get it? Am I missing something? Or is the Le Creuset markup on their stoneware lines really just about rounding out your Le Creuset kitchen? Conclusion: The pan "is OK" so it gets its 3 stars. Would I buy it if it wasn't a gift, probably not, well at least not until I could afford an entire Le Creuset kitchen with fancy appliances to match and even then I'd like to think my gourmet kitchen would be about great food and not just matching cookware.
