Le Creuset, where have you been all my life? Over the past two years, I have been replacing old items in my kitchen with several pieces of Le Creuset. All of the pieces have worked out very well. Recently, I ordered 2 of the rectangular dishes and have used them almost every dinner meal. They work great for microwaving vegies and are just the right size for freezing casseroles for two people. In the future, I plan to give them as wedding gifts. I'll include the dry ingredients along with my favorite receipe. They will make a great gift for the new bride.

By H. Murphy
My husband and I received a set of these Le Creuset stoneware dishes as a wedding gift. I was wary of using them, picturing burnt-on items, hours of scrubbing, etc. I'm the cook in my house, and my husband does cleanup. He automatically despises anything that can't be put in the dishwasher. Now that I've used this particular dish for everything from casseroles to roasted vegetables, I know how wrong I was! Even the scariest-looking messes (like deep purple juices from roasted beets) come right off in the dishwasher -- no soaking required (though my husband will still insist on a soaking if he feels too lazy to actually open the dishwasher door and insert an item). Food always looks lovely cooked in this dish -- it provides very even heat and doesn't under- or over-brown things.Though I've used this piece at a variety of oven temps and also put it in the fridge, I've never frozen anything in it, so I can't speak to its freezer performance. The size is perfect for two people and a few leftovers, assuming you don't have a humongous appetite. If you don't have self-control when it comes to sweets, I don't recommend using this dish for that purpose. It's not quite large enough to make sweets for a crowd, thus you might decide to just "polish off what's there" and then end up with significant guilt and stomachache. Not that I would know any of this from personal experience...To sum up, this piece and all of the Le Creuset stoneware I own looks fabulous and timeless, but has modern properties that make cleanup a breeze.

By J. R. Manns
I bought this piece on a whim, to see if Le Creuset is all it is cracked up to be...I have not been disappointed. Easy to clean, nice even baking. I am now putting together a wish list so that I can gradually upgrade my Corningware casseroles with Le Creuset.
