By Ms Harrison in Peachtree City
Love these mini-legumiers. They're pretty, a perfect match to the cast iron legumier, and, of course they match all of my other Le Creuset pieces. I also like that these are bigger than the mini stoneware pieces which only hold about 8 ounces. Those are cute but fairly useless. These are great for individual or two person dishes and they're wonderful for side dishes and soups. The lid makes them totally perfect. I'm a big Le Creuset fan all around and I'm just thrilled with all of the new pieces that have come out this year in both cast iron and stoneware. I bought Legumiers in red, by the way.

By John
These are perfect single serving bowls for French onion soup. As long as the soup is warm (to prevent thermal shock) you can place these under the broiler and get the perfect crust of melty cheese. The size is an appropriate serving, and the dimensions result in a perfect ratio of toast and cheese to soup. The bowls insulate well so keep the soup warm, and the bottom does not get too hot when under the broiler. They would also be good for many other baked or broiled starting/side courses or desserts, but are too small for most main courses. I intend to try out individual cobblers next. They also work well in the microwave, without getting as hot to the touch as some stoneware or other ceramics. Edit: I forgot to mention that these are absurdly easy to clean, the surface is glassy smooth and easily wipes clean, and it is dishwasher safe. The very bottom is rough so might stain, but you'll never see it and a slick bottom would be a bad idea anyway.

I'm uneasy about clay--not knowing the origin of dishes, the possible lead content, etc. These legumiers hare a good shape, size, and have lids. I recommend them.
