These are perfect for microwave cooking. I've bought so many of these over the years, to use, to give as gifts, to send away to college (with my kids), that I wouldn't want to get along without them. They have eliminated a lot of the mess in our microwave (you know, those spatters on the roof and sides of the microwave). I keep a set of round lids on the pot rack- 3 sizes (mugs, 8 inch and 13 inch) and then I have a rectangular (9 by 13) and this. A set like that will cover all your needs. I have found multiples of the round ones are nice to have, but it's not essential, unless you have a lot of people in your home, and you cook a lot, as we do. You just toss them in the dishwasher when you're done with them. This is a truly excellent product. We use them ever day.
