Heavy iron takoyaki pan to make the Japanese style octopus "hot cakes" in your own home! The takoyaki pan measures 12 inches by 8 and is made of heavy cast iron. It comes with a simple takoyaki recipe, an oil brush and a turning pick. This large size takoyaki pan makes up to 24 pieces of takoyaki at a time, each measuring about 1 5/8 inches across.

I have this pan, a gift that was ordered here. Nice size, exactly what I wanted. BUT IT IS COATED IN A BLACK PAINT. and it's MADE IN CHINA. No one can tell me if this paint has been tested for lead (or whoknowswhat - it's from China). It is not the coating you see on a preseasoned Lodge cast iron pan. It is not the black coating of a well used vintage/antique cast iron pan. It is painted. One of these days, I will have the time and energy to strip it to the bare cast iron and season it properly. Until then, the black paint will creep me out.EDIT: I contacted the vendor, who contacted the importer, who said:"The answer I received from my importer is:The coating on TBT3 is a Black HIGH TEMPERATURE PAINT coating. No need for seasoning."Great, no need for seasoning. Any need for a lead test?Unless I can strip this safely, not going to use it!! What a shame, seemed like a great pan in theory.

I haven't tried cooking with it yet but I felt I should write a review anyway. It came rather fast. Mine didn't come with the oil brush(which is a shame since I really wanted one) but it did come with the pick. I'm assuming by the previous review that getting the oil brush or pick is a hit or miss kind of deal but I'm so far happy with my purchase.I only left 4 stars because the order page said it would come with the pan, the pick, and the oil brush. I expected to get all three seeing as that is what I paid for but only got 2 out of the 3. In the end, it's not that big of a deal and not worth fighting about. :)Also, is the cast iron pan seasoned? I'm not sure if I can just go right ahead and cook with it or season it. If you have purchased this, can you let me know?

I did not received the pick and the oil brush with the original order, but the seller was very prompt in correcting that after the review posting. The product works great. I highly recommend this.
