Great salt and sugar containers!

I love my little strawberry. I'd been admiring all of the Le Creuset petite fruit casseroles for a good couple of years, particularly the pear one because I have a thing for pears. When my fiance and I went to make a wedding registry, I wanted to add the pear because I've wanted it for so long and I thought it would make the perfect container for salt to use while cooking. I was SO sad to find that the pear is no longer available so added the strawberry to the registry instead. Imagine my surprise to receive the strawberry and the pear- my mother found the pear elsewhere! I love my adorable pear and strawberry casseroles. I keep both of them out on the counter, with salt in one and sugar in the other. They're so convenient and always make me smile. I've only had them for a week or so but definitely plan to bake some tiny little apple crisps or mini casseroles or something in them from time to time as well. I may come up with some excuses to get the blueberry and apple too- maybe to hold small amounts of flour for thickening sauces or tea bags. I'm sure I can come up with some use for them, and what would be cuter than a miniature fleet of ceramic fruit on the counter top?

Mine just arrived with the other "berries" Le Creuset Stoneware 4-Piece Petite Berry Casserole Set, Assorted Colors. Absolutely nice! Good for individual serving or side dishes as described. Lovely!
